Children's SW - CIC Team - Stockport

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work - Children in Care (CIC) team in Stockport. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and young people in our care system. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and other professionals to provide the highest standards of support and intervention.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with children, families, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local safeguarding policies.
  • Providing ongoing support and guidance to children and their families throughout the care process.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to decision-making processes.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records of casework and interventions.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker status with a recognized degree in Social Work.
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrable experience working with children and families, particularly in a Children in Care setting.
  • Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
  • Effective organizational skills and the ability to manage a varied caseload.
