We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic team in Yorkshire. This pivotal role involves ensuring that the best interests of children and young people in care are prioritized and upheld throughout their journey. As an IRO, you will facilitate and lead reviews of care plans, ensuring that each child's voice is heard and their needs are met effectively.
Key responsibilities include:
Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children and young people in care. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local policies. Advocating for the rights and wishes of children and young people. Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to develop and implement effective care strategies. Providing reports and documentation to support the review process.To be successful in this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Proven experience working with children and young people in a social work capacity. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals. Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare.Additional requirements include a commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for advocating for vulnerable children.
