Join the dedicated team at Sutton Council as a Social Worker specializing in Children with Disabilities. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to ensure the well-being and development of children with disabilities. Your expertise will help create tailored support plans, advocate for children's rights, and facilitate access to necessary resources and services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments to identify the needs of children with disabilities and their families. Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with families and relevant stakeholders. Providing ongoing support and guidance to families, ensuring they are empowered to make informed decisions. Monitoring and reviewing the effectiveness of care plans and making necessary adjustments. Collaborating with educational institutions, health services, and community organizations to create a holistic support network.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children with disabilities and their families. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to develop effective care plans. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with vulnerable populations.

Qualified Social Worker - Children with Disabilities South Oxon

Join a supportive Disability Team in the south of Oxfordshire as a Qualified Social Worker (SWE registered) delivering high‑quality social care to disabled children and their families. This hybrid locum social work role suits an all‑rounder with experience across Child Protection, Children in Need, Children in Care (Children We Care For), Care Proceedings, Leaving Care, assessment work and some court work.

What you'll doCarry a varied caseload, undertaking holistic assessments and delivering support to:Children in Need (CIN)Children subject to Child Protection plansChildren in Care ProceedingsChildren We Care For/Children in CareCare leavers/Leaving CareBuild strong relationships with disabled children and their families, ensuring personalised, strengths‑based plans.Prepare clear, evidence‑based reports and contribute to court work where required.Work collaboratively with education, health and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.Use/learn the Liquid Logic case management system (training provided during induction).About the team & working patternSmall, close‑knit service: 6 Social Workers, 2 Family Support Workers, 2 Disability Support Workers.Hybrid working: 2 days per week in the office (one must be Thursday); twice‑monthly team meetings in person.Location: South Oxfordshire (must be able to drive and access to a car).Interviews via Microsoft Teams for convenience.What we're looking forSWE registration (required).ASYE completed and minimum 2 years' post‑qualified experience.Experience with Disabled Children is desirable (or a strong interest and transferable skills from CIN/CP/CIC/Court work/Assessment teams).Confident in Child Protection, Children in Need, Children in Care, assessments, and court work.Familiarity with Liquid Logic beneficial (or other systems such as Liquidlogic-training provided).Pay & engagementPAYE: £30.50 per hourUmbrella: £38.00 per hour

Southend-on-Sea City Council is looking for a skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join their Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team on a permanent basis. This role is vital in supporting children and young people with complex needs and their families to lead safe, fulfilling lives.

🚨 Applicants must have direct experience working with children with disabilities.

🔹 Key Responsibilities:

Manage a caseload of children with disabilities requiring statutory support, protection, or care planning.

Carry out assessments, develop child-focused care and support plans, and monitor outcomes.

Work in partnership with families, schools, health services, and other professionals to provide coordinated support.

Attend and contribute to CIN meetings, child protection conferences, and reviews as required.

Ensure all practice is in line with legislation, statutory guidance, and safeguarding procedures.

Champion the rights and voice of children with disabilities in all aspects of your work.

🔹 What We're Looking For:

Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.

Experience in a Children with Disabilities team or equivalent.

Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989, Care Act, and SEND Code of Practice.

Strong assessment, communication, and partnership working skills.
