Join our dedicated Children With Disabilities Team as a Social Worker / Senior Practitioner in Staffordshire, where you will play a vital role in improving the lives of children with disabilities and their families. In this position, you will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including families, schools, and healthcare providers, to ensure that children receive the support and services they need to thrive. Your expertise will be essential in assessing needs, developing care plans, and advocating for the rights and well-being of children with disabilities.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and their families. Developing and implementing individual care plans in partnership with families and other professionals. Providing ongoing support, guidance, and intervention to children and families. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational standards. Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and contributing to the development of best practices.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working with children with disabilities or in a similar setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload effectively.

This position will be for a period of 6 months but is likely to be extended. The Children with Disabilities Team is a specialist social work team working with disabled children, young people and their families.

The team are a well-established, experienced team with their work covering the full range of statutory duties in the delivery of the service.

Within the team, they work with families on a Child in Need basis, those where there are safeguarding concerns and children in our care, and Early Intervention Social Workers who are the initial point of contact for families with the Team.

Bradford are happy to look at 30 hours over 4 days or 2.5 days a week.

There is parking nearby and the role is hybrid 3 days in the office and 2 from home. All visits are face to face.

Regular supervision and reasonable caseload to the right social worker
