Join our dedicated team at Hackney as a Senior Social Worker in the Children Looked After Team, where your expertise will make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and their families. This role requires a passionate and experienced social worker who can lead and support a team in delivering high-quality care and safeguarding for children in the local authority's care. You will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including families, schools, and other agencies, to ensure the best outcomes for children.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Managing a caseload of children looked after, ensuring all assessments and care plans are completed to a high standard. Providing supervision and support to junior social workers and students, fostering their professional development. Conducting regular reviews and meetings to monitor the progress and well-being of children in care. Building strong relationships with children, families, and external partners to promote positive outcomes. Ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare and safeguarding.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Extensive experience in child protection and working with children in care. Strong assessment, analytical, and report-writing skills.
