We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Stockport Connected Carers Team on a part-time basis. As a member of this team, you will play a crucial role in supporting and assessing foster carers to provide safe and nurturing environments for children in need.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Conducting assessments and reviews of foster carers to ensure compliance with regulations and standards
  • Providing ongoing support, advice, and guidance to foster carers to enhance their skills and capabilities
  • Collaborating with other professionals and agencies to coordinate comprehensive care plans for children in foster care
  • Participating in case conferences, court hearings, and multidisciplinary meetings to advocate for the best interests of children
  • Documenting and maintaining accurate records of all interactions and interventions in accordance with legal requirements

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a valid registration with Social Work England
  • Demonstrated experience in working with foster carers and children in care
  • Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to foster care services
