We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Social Worker to join our Fostering team in Stockport. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support and guidance to foster carers and children in care, ensuring the well-being and safety of all individuals involved.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Conducting assessments of prospective foster carers to ensure suitability and readiness for fostering.
  • Providing ongoing support and supervision to foster carers, including regular home visits and support with challenging situations.
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals, such as schools and healthcare providers, to ensure the best outcomes for children in care.
  • Participating in team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field of fostering.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Previous experience working within a fostering team or with children and families in a social work setting.
  • Strong assessment and report writing skills, with the ability to make evidence-based decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with a diverse range of individuals.

In addition to the essential qualifications and skills, candidates who have experience in managing complex cases or working with children with additional needs will be highly desirable.
