Best Interest Assessor - Full Time - Leicester - £36-38ph

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Best Interest Assessor to join our team in Leicester on a full-time basis. As a Best Interest Assessor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that vulnerable individuals who lack mental capacity are safeguarded and supported in making decisions that are in their best interests.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Conducting assessments to determine the best interests of individuals lacking capacity
  • Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to gather relevant information
  • Providing clear and concise reports outlining assessment findings and recommendations
  • Attending meetings and court hearings as required
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice guidelines

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration
  • Experience working as a Best Interest Assessor within a social care setting
  • Sound knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
