Join our dedicated team as a Children's Social Worker in South Gloucestershire and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. We are looking for a passionate and qualified individual who is committed to promoting the welfare and safety of children. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of children and their families, developing and implementing care plans, and working collaboratively with other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for those in your care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing tailored care plans in collaboration with families and other stakeholders. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Providing support and guidance to families, helping them access the necessary resources and services. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to safeguarding processes.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. Proven experience in a children's social work setting is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

Essential Criteria:

Working in the Public Law teams, Children's Social Workers (or as we will professionally call you - Family Court Advisers) are involved in a combination of cases where either the families require the assistance to agree on the best arrangements for the welfare and safety of the child(ren) involved or the local authority has serious concerns and requests the involvement of Cafcass in the case.Children's Social Workers key responsibilities include: Conducting assessments and directly engaging with children to understand and represent their views and wishes to the court. Using expertise in robust risk assessment and mediation will be essential as you advocate for arrangements that prioritise the best interest of the children.

Desirable Criteria:

Who we're looking for Relevant Social Work qualification is essential You must be registered with Social Work England regulator You'll ideally have a minimum of 3 years' experience working with children and families in a social work capacity Experience in Family Court proceedings and understanding of Public Law. Organised and resilient with ability to work independently and managing workload effectively
