Join our dedicated team as a Social Worker in the Refugee/UASC Team based in Havant, Hampshire. In this pivotal role, you will provide essential support to unaccompanied asylum-seeking children and young people, ensuring their safety, well-being, and successful integration into the community. Your expertise will be vital in assessing needs, developing care plans, and collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver comprehensive services.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments of the needs and circumstances of unaccompanied minors. Developing and implementing tailored care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals. Providing emotional support and advocacy for children and young people throughout the asylum process. Maintaining accurate and timely case records in accordance with legal and organizational guidelines. Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to strategic planning for service improvements.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Experience working with vulnerable children and families, particularly in the context of refugee and asylum issues. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
