We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join our dynamic Qualified Social Work team in Herefordshire. As an AMHP, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the wellbeing of individuals experiencing mental health crises, providing assessment, support, and intervention in accordance with the Mental Health Act. Your expertise will contribute to safeguarding vulnerable adults and promoting their recovery and independence.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting mental health assessments and determining the need for intervention under the Mental Health Act. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs. Providing crisis intervention and support to individuals and their families during challenging times. Ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards in mental health practice. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, CSS, or equivalent). Approval as an AMHP or willingness to undertake the necessary training. Strong knowledge of mental health legislation and best practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and professionals alike. Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and manage complex situations.
