Northamptonshire - QSW - Kinship/SGO/Initial Viabilities Assessments

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our team in Northamptonshire. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for conducting Kinship, Special Guardianship Orders (SGO), and Initial Viabilities Assessments to ensure the safety and well-being of children in need of support.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Undertaking comprehensive assessments of families and caregivers to determine their suitability for kinship care or SGO.
  • Providing support and guidance to families throughout the assessment process, ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are met.
  • Collaborating with various agencies and professionals to gather relevant information and make informed decisions regarding the placement of children.
  • Completing detailed reports and documentation in a timely manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements and standards.

The ideal candidate for this position will possess:

  • A recognized Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments within a child protection or safeguarding context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
  • An understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to kinship care, SGO, and child welfare.

Additional requirements for this role may include a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel within the region.
