We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Children's Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our team in Nottingham. This vital role is designed for qualified social workers who have a strong commitment to improving the lives of children and young people in care. As an IRO, you will ensure that the views and wishes of children are heard and considered in their care plans. Your work will play a crucial role in safeguarding children and promoting their welfare.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children and young people in care, ensuring they meet legal requirements and best practices.
- Facilitating and chairing review meetings, encouraging participation from children, families, and professionals.
- Monitoring the implementation of care plans and providing feedback to local authorities regarding their effectiveness.
- Building trusting relationships with children and young people to advocate for their needs and rights.
- Collaborating with multi-agency teams to ensure a holistic approach to safeguarding and supporting children.
To be considered for this position, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in children's social work, particularly in child protection and care proceedings.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
