Sheffield City Council is seeking a dedicated and skilled Child Protection Advanced Practitioner to join our dynamic social work team. This vital role is designed for experienced social workers who are passionate about safeguarding children and enhancing their wellbeing. As an Advanced Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in assessing and supporting children and families in complex situations, ensuring that their needs are met with empathy and professionalism.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting thorough assessments of children and families in need of support. Developing and implementing effective child protection plans in collaboration with multi-agency teams. Providing supervision and support to less experienced social workers and students. Leading case conferences and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. Engaging with families and communities to promote positive outcomes for children.To be considered for this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant post-qualification experience in child protection and safeguarding. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions.
