Join our dedicated team in Bournemouth as a Children’s Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) and make a significant impact on the lives of vulnerable children and young people. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring that the care plans for children in care are effectively implemented and reviewed, advocating for their rights and needs. Your expertise will contribute to the continuous improvement of services and outcomes for children and families in our community.
As a Children’s IRO, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children and young people in care.
- Ensuring that the views of children and families are heard and considered in decision-making processes.
- Monitoring the quality of care and support provided to children, making recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to promote the best interests of children.
- Providing advice and guidance to children and families about their rights and entitlements.
The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
- Proficiency in report writing and case management.
