Nottinghamshire - Personal Advisor - UASC (Non- Qualified)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Personal Advisor for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) in Nottinghamshire. In this role, you will be responsible for providing support, guidance, and advocacy to young people who have arrived in the UK without a parent or guardian.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Building trusting relationships with UASC to assess their needs and develop individual support plans
  • Providing practical assistance in accessing housing, healthcare, education, and legal services
  • Supporting young people in navigating the asylum process and advocating on their behalf
  • Collaborating with partner agencies and stakeholders to ensure a coordinated approach to support
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A genuine passion for working with vulnerable young people and a commitment to promoting their well-being
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with UASC from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • An understanding of the challenges faced by asylum-seeking children and the ability to provide non-judgmental support
  • Experience in a similar role or a relevant field is desirable but not essential

Additional requirements for this position include a valid driving license and access to a vehicle, as the role may involve travel within Nottinghamshire to meet with young people and attend meetings.
