We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our team in the Trafford area. The primary focus of this role will be completing Age Assessments for Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) to ensure their appropriate care and support needs are met.

Key responsibilities and duties:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of the age of UASC in line with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines.
  • Working collaboratively with other professionals and agencies to gather relevant information and provide comprehensive reports.
  • Developing and implementing care plans tailored to the individual needs of each young person.
  • Advocating for the rights and wellbeing of UASC, ensuring their voices are heard and their best interests are upheld.
  • Participating in case conferences, meetings, and court proceedings as required.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a valid registration with the HCPC.
  • Demonstrated experience in completing Age Assessments for UASC within a social work setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to safeguarding and working with UASC.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to work independently, manage a complex caseload, and make sound decisions under pressure.
