We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Kinship Assessment team in Devon. As part of this vital role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments to determine the suitability of kinship carers for children in need of alternative care arrangements.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of potential kinship carers to ensure the safety and well-being of children.
  • Developing and implementing care plans based on assessment findings to support the best interests of the child.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including families and partner agencies, to ensure effective support and intervention.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to kinship carers throughout the assessment process and beyond.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess:

  • A recognized social work qualification and registration with Social Work England.
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting assessments within a social work setting, preferably in kinship care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse individuals and build positive relationships.
  • An understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare and safeguarding.

Additional requirements for this position include a valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for travel within the region.
