We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Duty & Assessment team in Bury. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting timely and thorough assessments of children and families in need of support and protection.
Key responsibilities and duties include:
- Responding to referrals and conducting initial assessments to determine the level of need and risk involved.
- Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with service users, colleagues, and partner agencies.
- Conducting home visits and interviews to gather information and assess the safety and well-being of children and families.
- Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
- Providing support and guidance to families to promote positive change and prevent the escalation of issues.
Essential qualifications and skills:
- Qualified Social Worker with a valid registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working in a Duty & Assessment team within a local authority setting.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding.
- Excellent assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with service users, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

- Ability to work flexibly, including participating in an on-call rota as required.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and upholding the highest standards of social work practice.
