We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker to join our Duty & Assessment team in Bury. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for conducting timely and thorough assessments of children and families in need of support and protection.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Responding to referrals and conducting initial assessments to determine the level of need and risk involved.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in collaboration with service users, colleagues, and partner agencies.
  • Conducting home visits and interviews to gather information and assess the safety and well-being of children and families.
  • Participating in case conferences, court proceedings, and multi-agency meetings to ensure the best possible outcomes for service users.
  • Providing support and guidance to families to promote positive change and prevent the escalation of issues.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Social Worker with a valid registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working in a Duty & Assessment team within a local authority setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child protection and safeguarding.
  • Excellent assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage with service users, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
