Join our dedicated Front Door Team in Devon as a Children's Social Worker, where you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of children and families within our community. As a front-line practitioner, you will be responsible for assessing needs, identifying risks, and implementing effective interventions to support vulnerable children. Your expertise will contribute to the development of child-centered plans and collaborative partnerships with families, schools, and other agencies.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments and evaluations of children and families in need of support. Developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual family situations. Working collaboratively with multi-agency teams to ensure comprehensive support services. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation. Participating in regular supervision and professional development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Proven experience working with children and families in a social work capacity. Strong assessment and analytical skills with the ability to make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to working with families.

Key ResponsibilitiesConduct assessments and provide analysis to the family courts, focusing on the child's welfare.Engage with children and families to understand their needs, wishes, and feelings.Collaborate with parents, relatives, local authorities, and legal professionals.Prepare high-quality reports and present findings in court.Maintain accurate case records and documentation.RequirementsQualified Social Worker with current registration with Social Work England.Proven experience in children's social work, including safeguarding and risk assessment.Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills.Ability to work independently and manage a caseload effectively.Flexibility to work remotely and attend court hearings as required.
