We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Lancashire - QSW for our Child and Youth Justice Service based in Burnley. As a Qualified Social Worker in this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting vulnerable children and young people within the justice system.

Key responsibilities and duties include:

  • Assessing the needs and risks of children and young people involved in the justice system.
  • Developing and implementing care plans to support the well-being and safety of the individuals.
  • Providing advocacy and support to children and young people during legal proceedings.
  • Liaising with external agencies, such as courts and police, to ensure effective collaboration in safeguarding efforts.
  • Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences to review progress and make informed decisions.

The essential qualifications and skills for this role are:

  • Qualified Social Worker status with relevant certifications and registrations.
  • Demonstrated experience in working with children and young people in challenging circumstances.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and make sound judgments in complex situations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to child protection and youth justice.
