Are you an experienced Social Worker looking for your next contract in Barking? Join Barking & Dagenham's MASH Team (Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub) and make a real difference in children's services. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified social worker to work in a hybrid social work environment, combining office-based collaboration at Barking Town Hall with flexible working from home.
Key Details:
- Location: Barking Town Hall (Hybrid: 1-2 days in office/week)
- Duration: 6 months (35 hours/week, not condensed)
- Hourly Rate: £37 (Umbrella)
- Caseload: 4-6 cases per day
- Equipment: Provided by Council, to be collected on-site
- Required: Qualified Social Worker with 4+ years' experience
Essential Requirements:
- MASH experience is essential
- Strong knowledge of London threshold, Working Together protocol, and information sharing protocol
- Evidence of effective relationships with team and partners
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake high-quality, analytical single assessments within statutory timescales
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and families in need, following best practice in safeguarding social worker roles
- Work collaboratively with Health, Education, Police, and voluntary sector partners as part of a leading children's services team
- Provide services efficiently and effectively, ensuring the child's voice is heard and recorded
- Promote timely permanency planning for children in care
- Maintain accurate case records and comply with GDPR, equality, and safeguarding standards
- Contribute to service development and quality assurance within Barking Dagenham social care jobs
- Keep up to date with legislation, divisional procedures, and professional practice in social work London
- Ensure your line manager is kept fully informed of any concerns arising from caseload
