About the Role:
As a Social Worker in our Assessment Team, you'll play a key role in safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and families, in line with statutory duties under the Children Acts 1989 & 2004. You'll work within London Child Protection procedures, supporting children subject to Child Protection Plans and contributing to timely permanency planning under the Adoption Act 2002. This is a fantastic opportunity for those interested in assessment team social work and statutory social work in a London Borough.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake high-quality, analytical assessments and manage a varied caseload
- Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners, including health, education, and police
- Ensure care plans meet health and education standards for children in care
- Maintain accurate records and uphold GDPR, data protection, equality, diversity, and health & safety standards
- Contribute to service development and quality assurance within Barking & Dagenham social work careers
About You:
- Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England (SWE) registration
- Experience in CIN, CP, LAC, risk assessment, and decision-making
- Skilled in producing detailed reports for conferences and proceedings
- Strong communicator, able to build effective relationships with children, families, and partners
- Reflective practitioner who uses evidence-informed tools to enhance practice
