About the Role

We're recruiting an experienced Social Worker to join the Knowsley Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), working within Children's Services.

This is a key front-line position, where you'll play an essential role in screening, assessing, and triaging referrals to ensure that children and families receive timely, proportionate, and effective support. Working as part of a multi-agency team, you'll be responsible for gathering and analysing information to inform decision-making and safeguard children at risk of harm.

This role is office-based in Knowsley and offers an excellent opportunity to make a direct impact in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional MASH social work service, ensuring all contacts and referrals are appropriately screened and prioritised.
  • Gather, analyse, and share information from multiple agencies to inform threshold decisions.
  • Determine whether Section 47 (Child Protection) enquiries or Child and Family Assessments are required.
  • Work closely with partner agencies - including police, health, and education - to ensure coordinated and proportionate responses.
  • Record all decisions, actions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Contribute to safeguarding discussions and strategy meetings.
  • Demonstrate professional curiosity and sound risk assessment in all decision-making.

About You

We're looking for a confident, motivated, and experienced Children's Social Worker who can thrive in a busy, multi-agency setting.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Social Worker (CQSW, DipSW, CSS, or Social Work Degree).
  • Registered (or pending registration) with Social Work England.
  • Experience in a MASH, Duty, or Referral & Assessment environment.
  • Strong understanding of Children's Social Care legislation, thresholds, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and IT skills.
  • Able to work full-time and office-based in Knowsley.
