Join our dedicated Fostering Team in Gateshead as a Children's Social Worker (SSW) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. We are looking for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual who is committed to providing high-quality support and safeguarding to children in foster care. In this role, you will work collaboratively with foster families, children, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for those in our care.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting assessments and reviews of foster placements to ensure the well-being of children. Providing support and guidance to foster carers, helping them to meet the needs of the children in their care. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to develop and implement care plans. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with statutory requirements. Participating in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW). Registration with Social Work England. Experience in children's social work, specifically within fostering or adoption services. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families. We are currently recruiting for Gateshead Social Services for an experienced social worker for their Childrens Services.
You will be working in the MASH Team ( Multi Agency Safeguarding Hub), the first port of call.
This is a part time role of 4 days a week - 30 hours
You need to have experience in Duty and Assessment if not previous MASH expertise. 2 - 3 days in the office, rest working from home
You should be registered with SWE
