Are you a passionate and dedicated social worker looking to make a difference in the lives of children and families? Gateshead Council is seeking a qualified Social Worker to join our Children's Team as a Team Manager. In this role, you will lead a team of skilled professionals, ensuring the delivery of high-quality social work services to children and their families in Gateshead. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the well-being of our community while developing your leadership skills.

As a Team Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

Providing effective leadership and supervision to a team of social workers, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practices. Overseeing case management and ensuring that assessments, interventions, and reviews are conducted in a timely and thorough manner. Collaborating with partner agencies and stakeholders to promote the welfare and safeguarding of children. Supporting the professional development of team members through coaching, mentoring, and training opportunities. Managing performance and quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of service delivery.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in children's social work, with a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection issues. Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with families and professionals.
