South Gloucestershire Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Care Practitioner to join our Strategic Safeguarding Team. As a Children's Care Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments and developing safeguarding plans in partnership with families and other professionals.

  • Providing support and guidance to families, promoting positive parenting and resilience.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency teams to share information and ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

  • A relevant degree in Social Work, Child Development, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children and families in a safeguarding or social care setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals.
  • Ability to assess risk and make informed decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Knowledge of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
