South Gloucestershire Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Care Practitioner to join our Strategic Safeguarding Team. This pivotal role involves working collaboratively to ensure the safety and well-being of children and young people in our community. You will engage with families, provide advice, and support interventions to safeguard children at risk. If you are passionate about making a difference in the lives of vulnerable children, we want to hear from you!

As a Children's Care Practitioner, your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting assessments and developing safeguarding plans in partnership with families and other professionals. Monitoring and reviewing the progress of children and families to ensure effective interventions are in place. Providing support and guidance to families, promoting positive parenting and resilience. Collaborating with multi-agency teams to share information and ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate will possess essential qualifications and skills, including:

A relevant degree in Social Work, Child Development, or a related field. Experience working with children and families in a safeguarding or social care setting. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with children, families, and professionals. Ability to assess risk and make informed decisions in high-pressure situations. Knowledge of child protection legislation, policies, and procedures.
