The London Borough of Newham is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children’s Social Work - Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) Team. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting assessments and investigations into child welfare concerns.
  • Working collaboratively with partner agencies to share information and develop effective safeguarding plans.
  • Providing support and guidance to children and families, ensuring their voices are heard and considered in all decisions.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely case records in compliance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in team meetings and contributing to the development of best practices within the team.

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registered with Social Work England.
  • Experience working within children's social services, particularly in a MASH or safeguarding context.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively with families and professionals.
