As the Assistant Team Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Team Manager in the day-to-day management of the MASH team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising and mentoring social workers and support staff to ensure high-quality practice and compliance with safeguarding standards.
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and best practices within the MASH.
  • Conducting assessments and reviews to identify risks and ensure appropriate interventions are in place.
  • Collaborating with partner agencies to facilitate effective information sharing and coordinated responses.
  • Participating in case discussions and decision-making processes to safeguard children and young people.

To be considered for this role, you must possess a relevant social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent) and hold current registration with Social Work England. In addition, the following qualifications and skills are essential:

  • Experience in child protection or safeguarding work, preferably within a multi-agency environment.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to motivate and support a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with children, families, and professionals.
  • Sound knowledge of legislation and policy relating to child welfare and safeguarding.
