Key responsibilities include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments of the needs of unaccompanied minors. Developing and implementing tailored care plans in collaboration with children, families, and other professionals. Providing ongoing support and advocacy to ensure the best outcomes for children in care. Maintaining accurate records and documentation in compliance with legal and organizational standards. Participating in multi-agency meetings and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.To be successful in this role, you will need the following essential qualifications and skills:
Qualified Social Worker status with a valid Social Work England registration. Experience working with children and families, particularly in a social care setting. Caritas Recruitment are seeking an experienced Assistant Team Manager (ATM) - Social Worker to join the Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) Team at Buckinghamshire County Council.
Location: Aylesbury (2-3 days on site, hybrid working)
Rate: £42 per hour (umbrella)
Contract: Locum / agency social work contract
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified social worker with management or senior practice experience in children's services, safeguarding, and UASC/asylum-seeking young people. You will provide supervision, decision-making support, and contribute to positive outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
Applicants must be Social Work England registered, with proven experience as a Senior Practitioner, Assistant Team Manager, or similar leadership role within local authority children and families services.
