Children's SSW - CWD Team - Reading

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Children's Social Worker (SSW) to join our Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team in Reading. This role is crucial in providing support and intervention for children and families experiencing challenges related to disabilities. As a Children's SSW, you will work collaboratively with families, schools, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for the children in our care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting assessments to identify the needs of children and families.
  • Developing and implementing individualized support plans tailored to each child.
  • Providing direct support and guidance to children and their families.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency teams to coordinate services and resources.
  • Monitoring progress and making adjustments to support plans as necessary.
  • Documenting case notes and maintaining accurate records in compliance with policies.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, CQSW, DipSW).
  • Registration with the appropriate social work regulatory body.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly those with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies affecting children with disabilities.
