We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Adult's Social Worker to join our Review Team in Reading. As a vital member of our qualified social work team, you will be responsible for assessing the needs of adults and ensuring that they receive the appropriate support and services. Your expertise will help enhance the quality of life for individuals within our community, making a positive impact on their wellbeing.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of adult service users to identify their needs and risks. Developing and implementing personalized care plans in collaboration with service users and their families. Reviewing and evaluating existing care plans to ensure they are effective and meet changing needs. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, to coordinate services and support. Providing guidance and support to junior social workers and students on placement.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA in Social Work, MA in Social Work). Registration with Social Work England. Strong analytical and assessment skills with the ability to make sound decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to service users. Experience in adult social work, particularly in assessments and reviews.

Caritas Recruitment are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join the Access and Assessment Service with Brighter Futures for Children / Reading Borough Council.

Location: Reading (2-3 days per week in the office, hybrid role)

Rate: Up to £42 per hour (umbrella)

Contract: Locum / agency social work contract

This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Social Worker with strong assessment, safeguarding, and duty experience to work within a children and families service. The role involves working a duty rota and completing single assessments, progressing cases through to Initial Child Protection Conferences (ICPC) or first Child in Need (CHiN) Plan meetings.

Ideal applicants will:

Be Social Work England registered

Have post-qualifying experience in children's social work, assessment, and safeguarding

Demonstrate excellent skills in risk assessment, care planning, and multi-agency working

Have experience of duty, child protection, CIN, and court work

This locum role offers competitive rates, hybrid working, and the chance to make a real difference to vulnerable children and families in Reading.
