Bury Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Children's Independent Reviewing Officer to join our dynamic team in the Qualified Social Work field. This pivotal role involves overseeing the care planning process for children in care, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, and promoting the best interests of the children we serve.
As a Children's Independent Reviewing Officer, your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive reviews of care plans for children and young people, ensuring their views and wishes are central to the process. Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to develop effective strategies that meet the needs of children. Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of care placements and making recommendations for improvements. Providing expert guidance and support to local authorities and stakeholders on best practices in children's care. Preparing and presenting reports for review meetings, ensuring clarity and transparency in decision-making.To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, CSS, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Significant experience working with children and families, particularly in a statutory context. Strong analytical and report-writing skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.
