We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our Child In Need Team in Birmingham. This role is crucial in ensuring the safety and well-being of children who require additional support. As a Senior Practitioner, you will play a key role in leading casework, mentoring junior staff, and collaborating with a range of stakeholders to deliver high-quality social work services.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Managing a caseload of complex cases, conducting assessments, and developing intervention plans. Providing supervision and guidance to social workers and support staff, ensuring adherence to best practices. Working collaboratively with families, children, and external agencies to promote positive outcomes. Contributing to team meetings, case reviews, and safeguarding discussions. Maintaining accurate case records and preparing reports for court proceedings when necessary.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registered with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and working within a Child In Need framework. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make informed decisions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children and families.
