Are you a passionate and experienced social worker looking to make a significant impact in the lives of children and families? Birmingham City Council is seeking a dedicated Children's Senior Practitioner to join our Help & Protection Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to lead and support a team of social workers in delivering high-quality services to vulnerable children and their families.
As a Children's Senior Practitioner, you will be responsible for a range of key duties including:
Providing expert guidance and support to social work staff, ensuring best practices are followed in line with legislation and policy. Managing complex cases, conducting assessments, and developing tailored intervention plans that prioritize the safety and well-being of children. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding and support services. Leading team meetings and case consultations, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Contributing to the strategic development of services within the Help & Protection Team.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Significant experience in children's social work, particularly in safeguarding and child protection. Strong leadership abilities with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
