Wiltshire Council is seeking a qualified Children’s Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will ensure that children and young people in care have their voices heard and their needs met through effective and thorough review processes.
As a Children’s IRO, your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children and young people in care, ensuring their rights and wishes are prioritized.
- Facilitating meetings with children, families, and professionals to gather insights and feedback.
- Monitoring the quality of care provided, identifying any areas for improvement and advocating for necessary changes.
- Maintaining accurate records and reports, adhering to statutory guidelines and regulations.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to promote best practices and improve outcomes for children.
To be considered for this vital role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- At least two years of post-qualification experience in children’s social work.
- Strong knowledge of legislation related to child welfare and safeguarding.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
