We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Children’s Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) to join our team in Rochdale. As an IRO, you will play a vital role in ensuring that children in care receive the best possible outcomes through effective and thorough reviews of their care plans. You will work closely with children, families, and professionals to advocate for children's rights and ensure that their voices are heard in decision-making processes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting regular reviews of care plans for children and young people in care.
  • Ensuring that the views of children and young people are central to the review process.
  • Collaborating with social workers, foster carers, and other professionals to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care arrangements.
  • Identifying and addressing any issues or concerns that arise during the review process.
  • Preparing reports and documentation in accordance with statutory requirements and local policies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and families, preferably within a statutory setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and young people.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a diverse caseload.
