Leeds City Council is seeking a passionate and dedicated LAC (Looked After Children) Social Worker to join our dynamic team. As a LAC Social Worker, you will be responsible for assessing and addressing the needs of looked after children, ensuring their welfare and promoting their best interests through effective interventions and support.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing care plans for looked after children.
- Working collaboratively with children, families, and multi-agency partners to ensure effective support and intervention.
- Maintaining accurate and timely case records and documentation in line with regulatory standards.
- Participating in Child Protection Conferences, Looked After Reviews, and other relevant meetings.
- Providing guidance and support to foster carers and adoptive families to enhance the care of children.
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience working with looked after children and a solid understanding of relevant legislation and policies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with children and families.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage a complex caseload effectively.
