West Sussex County Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Children's Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding Team. In this pivotal role, you will work collaboratively with families, children, and other professionals to ensure the safety and well-being of vulnerable children in our community. Your expertise will be essential in assessing needs, developing care plans, and providing support to families to promote positive outcomes for children.

Key responsibilities include:

Conducting thorough assessments of children and families to identify needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective care plans in partnership with families. Working closely with multi-agency teams to ensure a coordinated approach to safeguarding. Providing ongoing support and guidance to families, helping them to navigate challenges. Maintaining accurate and comprehensive case records and documentation. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England. Experience working within a children’s social work environment, particularly in safeguarding. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with families and professionals. A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for improving outcomes for children.
