Join our Emergency Duty Team in Yorkshire as a Children’s Social Worker and play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children in crisis situations. As a Children’s Social Worker within the Emergency Duty Team, you will be responsible for:

Assessing the immediate needs of children and families in emergency situations. Making critical decisions regarding child protection and welfare. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure the safety and well-being of children. Providing support and guidance to families in crisis, including risk assessments and intervention planning. Maintaining accurate case records and documentation in line with statutory requirements.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent). Current Social Work England registration. Experience working with children and families, particularly in emergency or crisis situations. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound judgments under pressure. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to service delivery.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Sr. Social Worker for the EDT (Emergency Duty Team) in Wakefield. This vital role requires an experienced professional committed to providing high-quality social work services to individuals and families in crisis. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assessing needs, developing intervention strategies, and ensuring the safety and well-being of clients during emergency situations.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting thorough assessments of clients in crisis to determine immediate needs and risks. Developing and implementing effective intervention plans in collaboration with clients and other professionals. Providing crisis intervention and support to families, ensuring their safety and well-being. Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of casework activities, assessments, and interventions. Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss cases and share insights for improved outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized qualification in Social Work and registration with the relevant professional body. At least 3 years of post-qualification experience in social work, specifically within emergency or crisis settings. Strong knowledge of social work principles, practices, and relevant legislation. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate effectively with colleagues. Demonstrated ability to manage high-stress situations and make critical decisions quickly.

Additional requirements for this position include a valid driver's license and the ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
