CASP Front Door Social Worker - 24/7 Rota, Leicester City (UK).

Join CASP (Children's Assessment Support & Prevention Services) at Leicester City Council as a Level 3 Children's Social Worker (G9). This is an interim/locum opportunity in the Front Door service where you'll use your referral-taking, child protection, and safeguarding expertise to deliver swift, high-quality decisions for children and families.

  • Rota: 4 days on / 3 days off (24/7 service)
  • Weekend working: 1 in every 3 weekends

Shift patterns

Mon-Fri:

  • 10:00-20:00
  • 15:00-23:00
  • 23:00-08:30

Weekend:

  • 09:00-19:00
  • 12:00-23:00
  • 21:00-09:00

What you'll do

  • Triage and manage Front Door referrals, ensuring timely thresholds and proportionate decision-making.
  • Undertake duty and assessment activity for immediate risk and child protection concerns.
  • Liaise with partners to coordinate safeguarding responses and progression to appropriate pathways.
  • Maintain clear, defensible records aligned to children's social care legislation and local procedures.

What you'll need

  • Proven Front Door/Referral & Assessment experience within Children's Services.
  • Strong Child Protection practice and confident application of legislation/guidance (e.g., Children Act, Working Together).
  • SWE registration, enhanced DBS, Right to Work in the UK, and recent, relevant references.
  • Flexibility to work a 24/7 shift rota, including nights and 1-in-3 weekends.
