Solihull Council is seeking a qualified Children's Social Worker to join our Looked After Children (LAC) Team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with children, families, and other professionals to provide high-quality support and intervention for children in care, ensuring their safety, well-being, and development.

As a Children's Social Worker within the LAC Team, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the needs of children and their families.
  • Developing and implementing care plans in partnership with children, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in accordance with local and national standards.
  • Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to the development of safeguarding strategies.
  • Providing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA/MA in Social Work, DipSW).
  • Current Social Work England registration.
  • Experience working with children and families, particularly those in care.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children and families.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in children's social work.
