Leicestershire County Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children in Care (CIC) and Looked After Children (LAC) team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and development of children in our care. As a CIC/LAC Social Worker, you will be responsible for conducting assessments, developing care plans, and working collaboratively with families, children, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes for those in our care.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments of children and their families to identify needs and risks.
  • Developing and implementing individual care plans in partnership with children, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records and documentation.
  • Attending and contributing to multi-agency meetings and court proceedings as necessary.
  • Providing support and guidance to foster carers and adoptive families.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognised social work qualification (e.g., BA in Social Work, MA in Social Work, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience working with children and families, preferably in a CIC/LAC setting.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures related to child welfare.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
