Qualified Social Worker - Children with Disabilities South Oxon

Join a supportive Disability Team in the south of Oxfordshire as a Qualified Social Worker (SWE registered) delivering high‑quality social care to disabled children and their families. This hybrid locum social work role suits an all‑rounder with experience across Child Protection, Children in Need, Children in Care (Children We Care For), Care Proceedings, Leaving Care, assessment work and some court work.

What you'll do

  • Carry a varied caseload, undertaking holistic assessments and delivering support to:
    • Children in Need (CIN)
    • Children subject to Child Protection plans
    • Children in Care Proceedings
    • Children We Care For/Children in Care
    • Care leavers/Leaving Care
  • Build strong relationships with disabled children and their families, ensuring personalised, strengths‑based plans.
  • Prepare clear, evidence‑based reports and contribute to court work where required.
  • Work collaboratively with education, health and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
  • Use/learn the Liquid Logic case management system (training provided during induction).

About the team & working pattern

  • Small, close‑knit service: 6 Social Workers, 2 Family Support Workers, 2 Disability Support Workers.
  • Hybrid working: 2 days per week in the office (one must be Thursday); twice‑monthly team meetings in person.
  • Location: South Oxfordshire (must be able to drive and access to a car).
  • Interviews via Microsoft Teams for convenience.

What we're looking for

  • SWE registration (required).
  • ASYE completed and minimum 2 years' post‑qualified experience.
  • Experience with Disabled Children is desirable (or a strong interest and transferable skills from CIN/CP/CIC/Court work/Assessment teams).
  • Confident in Child Protection, Children in Need, Children in Care, assessments, and court work.
  • Familiarity with Liquid Logic beneficial (or other systems such as Liquidlogic-training provided).

Pay & engagement

  • PAYE: £30.50 per hour
  • Umbrella: £38.00 per hour
