Tameside - QSW - Kinship assessment team
Join the Tameside Kinship Assessment Team as a Qualified Social Worker (QSW) and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children and families within our community. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional who is passionate about kinship care and committed to ensuring the best outcomes for vulnerable children. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of kinship placements, collaborating with families, and providing support throughout the process.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting comprehensive kinship assessments in line with statutory requirements and best practice guidelines.
- Working closely with children, families, and external agencies to gather relevant information and insights.
- Preparing detailed reports and recommendations for the local authority.
- Providing ongoing support and advice to kinship carers and children in placement.
- Participating in multi-agency meetings and contributing to care planning processes.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
- A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in child protection and kinship care settings.
- Strong assessment and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
