We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Qualified Social Worker to join our Children's SW - Children with Disabilities (CWD) Team in Durham. This pivotal role involves working collaboratively with children and families, ensuring that the needs of children with disabilities are met through effective assessment, intervention, and support. As a key member of our team, you will play an essential role in enhancing the lives of vulnerable children, promoting their welfare, and safeguarding their rights.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and their families to identify needs and develop appropriate support plans. Working in partnership with parents, caregivers, and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver tailored interventions. Monitoring and reviewing the progress of children and families, making adjustments to support plans as necessary. Providing advice, guidance, and support to families to empower them in managing their child’s needs effectively. Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and maintaining accurate records in line with local authority policies.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

A recognized Social Work qualification (Degree in Social Work or equivalent). Registration with Social Work England (or equivalent body). Demonstrable experience working with children with disabilities and their families. Strong assessment, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with children and families.
