Join our dedicated Safeguarding Team in Middlesbrough as a Children's Social Worker (SSW) and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assessing the needs of children and families, identifying risks, and developing appropriate intervention plans.
  • Conducting home visits and engaging with children and their families to build trusting relationships.
  • Working closely with multi-agency teams to coordinate services and support for families.
  • Preparing reports and documentation for court proceedings and child protection meetings.
  • Providing advice and support to foster carers and adoptive families.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., BA in Social Work, MA in Social Work).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Experience in children’s social work, particularly in safeguarding and child protection.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on building relationships.
