Consultant Social Worker - Family Safeguarding - Rochdale

Rochdale Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Consultant Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding team. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing effective intervention plans for children and families.
  • Providing mentorship and supervision to less experienced social workers, fostering a culture of continuous learning.
  • Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure integrated and holistic support for families.
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in accordance with statutory requirements.
  • Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding work.
  • Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to working collaboratively.
