Rochdale Council is seeking a dedicated and passionate Consultant Social Worker to join our Family Safeguarding team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will play a crucial role in safeguarding vulnerable children and supporting families in need. You will be responsible for leading complex cases, providing expert guidance to social work colleagues, and ensuring high standards of practice in line with our commitment to child welfare.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing effective intervention plans for children and families. Providing mentorship and supervision to less experienced social workers, fostering a culture of continuous learning. Collaborating with multi-agency partners to ensure integrated and holistic support for families. Keeping accurate and up-to-date case records and reports in accordance with statutory requirements. Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.The ideal candidate will possess the following essential qualifications and skills:
A recognized social work qualification (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, or equivalent). Current registration with Social Work England. Significant experience in child protection and safeguarding work. Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
