Collaboration with families, external agencies, and other professionals will be key to your role.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments and developing tailored care plans for children in care.
  • Providing expert guidance and support to social work staff and mentoring less experienced colleagues.
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and best practice standards.
  • Building strong relationships with children, families, and multi-agency partners.
  • Participating in court proceedings and presenting evidence as required.

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications and skills:

  • A recognized social work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, CQSW, or equivalent).
  • Current registration with Social Work England.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ post-qualification experience in a social work setting, particularly within child protection or looked after children.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and frameworks, including the Children Act 1989 and 2004.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
